The chair and tools to assemble came well packaged. The base and arms of the recliner, as well as the base of the ottoman are solid wood and beautifully finished. Yes, the material used for chair and ottoman is a faux leather but do not let that be a turn off. The quality of the materials, wood and wood stain are beautiful
