This was delivered by FedEx. It came in a light to medium weight cardboard box. There was absolutely no padding or protection of any kind on the chair. The was a 3 inch gouge through the cardboard on one end. There is a small permanent scuff mark in the fabric of one arm but the fabric was not torn.
